Fujifilm Instax mini 11

The INSTAX Mini 11 is the latest instant camera to use Fujifilm's hugely popular INSTAX Mini format. Launched in February 2020 and available in five pastel colors, the Mini 11 takes small pictures using an all-analog process that takes about 90 seconds after you take it.

Compare Instax Mini 12 vs Instax Mini 11 reed mode

The concept is the same as in the early models, but now the 11 model is smaller and makes the process easier with automatic exposure, better results in low light and easier focusing; In the past, some of these features were available on more expensive INSTAX models, but the 11 has made them more accessible.

Like previous Instax cameras, the Mini 11 is extremely easy to use. On the back you'll find a large film loading door, although first check the small window for a yellow mark to indicate you've already inserted a cartridge; if you do, a counter in the lower right corner will tell you how many shots are left. If the counter reads S, you can open the door and insert a new cartridge by simply matching the yellow mark on the cartridge with the mark on the camera, then close the door. Then turn on the camera by pressing the button in the corner of the lens that extends the lens. Before you can take any photos, the camera has to pop the protective frame first, so just press the shutter button and it pops out. The counter on the back will now indicate that you have ten shots left.

Overall, the INSTAX Mini 11 is the best budget INSTAX out there, especially if you like to take selfies or portraits. It inherits the selfie mirror from the Mini 9, makes selfie focusing much more convenient with an extendable lens rather than an easily lost adapter lens, while a wider exposure range produces more attractive results, especially in low light, revealing much more more background. The viewfinder still isn't 100% accurate, especially at close range, and the camera still struggles in bright light where you'll often suffer from overexposure, but if you mainly shoot in dimmer conditions or indoors, the upgrades are well worth it differences What about inaccuracies in the framework? Maybe that's part of the charm.
